My name is Adrian Costin Ungureanu — though everyone calls me Adi — and I’m a private Transylvania tour guide born and raised in Brașov, one of the most beautiful and historic towns in the heart of the region. I grew up in a family where hospitality was simply a way of life. For over 20 years my parents, Constantin and Valentina, ran a well-loved guesthouse in Râșnov and the beloved La Promenada restaurant (you can still see the reviews on TripAdvisor!). Growing up among travelers from all over the world, welcoming guests became second nature to me.
I hold a Master’s degree in Tourism from Transilvania University and a National Tour Guide Certificate. For five years I worked in the Tourism and Culture Department of Râșnov City Hall, where I had the privilege of managing Râșnov Fortress — caring for one of Transylvania’s most iconic medieval landmarks and sharing its story with thousands of visitors. Then, in 2016, I decided to follow my true passion full-time and became an independent Transylvania tour guide.
For me, Transylvania isn’t just a place on the map — it’s a lifelong love. I’m deeply passionate about history, and I take real pride in telling it honestly: separating genuine historical fact from the many myths and legends, so you leave with a true understanding of this fascinating land (and, of course, plenty of good stories along the way). I’m also a proud member of a historical reenactment troupe, which keeps me close to the traditions, craftsmanship, and spirit of Transylvania’s past.
When I’m not guiding, you’ll likely find me on the mountain — I’m an avid snowboarder and I love the Carpathians in every season, from golden autumn forests to fresh winter powder.
