3 Castles Tour – Peles, Bran, Rasnov – starting from Brasov

Overview

We will begin the day by picking you up from your hotel or a designated meeting point in Brasov at 9am. Our first stop will be Peles Castle, located in the picturesque mountain resort of Sinaia. This stunning castle was built in the late 19th century as a summer residence for the Romanian royal family and is one of the most beautiful and well-preserved castles in Europe.

You will have a guided tour of the castle’s opulent rooms, including the grand reception hall, the royal bedrooms, and the exquisite art and sculpture galleries. You will also have the opportunity to explore the castle’s extensive grounds and gardens, which offer stunning views of the surrounding Carpathian Mountains.

After visiting Peles Castle, we will head to Bran Castle, also known as Dracula’s Castle. This imposing fortress is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Romania.

During the tour, you will learn about the history of the castle and its connection to the medieval ruler Vlad the Impaler, who was the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s “Dracula.” You will also have the opportunity to explore the castle’s eerie chambers and secret passages.

After visiting Bran Castle, we will stop for lunch at a traditional restaurant ‘La Promenada’ the best in Rasnov. Here, you will have the opportunity to sample some of the delicious local cuisine.

Our final stop of the day will be Rasnov Fortress, a medieval fortress located on a hilltop overlooking the town of Rasnov. The fortress was built in the 13th century and played an important role in defending the region against invading armies.

During the tour, you will explore the fortress’s walls, towers, and courtyards, and learn about its fascinating history. Unfortunately, the upper part of the fort is under restoration and it can’t be visited, only the garden of the fortress is open.

After visiting Rasnov Fortress, we will return to Brasov, where the tour will end. This day trip is an excellent opportunity to explore some of the most iconic destinations in Transylvania and learn about the region’s rich history and culture.
